The Antics Joke Show Ft Idle Playthings!

As it’s now February, some of you may be thinking that the 14th is the most important date you need to get in your calendars -- but you’d be mistaken. It’s the 25th. After all, who needs mutual affection for another human being, when you can have ‘The Antics Joke Show’, where instead you’ll be in a room full of strangers performing top-quality comedy at you? That’s right -- on February 25th we’ve got another mega show of stand-up, sketch and improv comedy at Cafe Kino, compèred by the Antics’ very own Beth Kerridge.

UP THE ANTICS will be providing our usual madcap set of live and audio sketches, including brand new material for our upcoming debut show ‘Geek Salad’. Joining us for the evening will be:

For our improvising spot this month, we welcome Bath Spa’s premier comedy society The Idle Playthings. They have been performing for four years together, in which time they have complete two full runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, been featured on BBC Radio Bristol and continue to host the monthly comedy night ‘Proving Grounds’ at Komedia, Bath.

* Stand-up comedians Darryl J Carrington, Peter Jones and Luke Mallison *

Darryl is a stand-up and improviser originally from Glastonbury, Somerset. He runs Bristol Underground Comedy, a comedy organisation which promotes rising comedy talent. His confident and charismatic style make him one not to miss.

Praise for Darryl J Carrington:

“Darryl is a really funny improviser. His street-performing background gives him the gears to get himself out of trouble should it arise, and he's got bags of potential.”
Stuart Goldsmith, Malcolm Hardee Award-winning comedian 2012

Luke has been performing stand-up for four years, during which time he has supported popular comedians such as Russell Howard, Nathan Caton and Tom Craine. He has performed all over the country, including for a spot at the Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh. His self-deprecating, yet light-hearted, stage presence helps him craft jokes about his inability to be an adult.
