THE THYME MACHINE
The Thyme Machine are a jingly-jangly Indiepop band based in Lancaster and Morecambe who sound like the ba*tard love children of Half Man Half Biscuit, John Shuttleworth and The Wedding Present. They are fronted by the enigmatic vocalist and songwriter Kriss Foster, a man who loves Vimto, football, and pencil museums.
The band see the marvellous in the mundane and write songs about taxidermy, static caravans, the Argos catalogue, jumpers, robots, zombies, football, postmen, Hayley from Coronation Street and falling in love at a funeral!
Sample song titles include:
'I'm in Love with the Girl in the Argos Catalogue'
'Wear Your Favourite Jumper'
'Second Choice Goalkeeper'
'Racoon In The Kitchen'
'My Dad Collects Batteries'
and many more!
Last August Kriss took his one-man show 'The Very Small Museum' to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to great reviews. He also played an acoustic set on the steam train at last year's Indietracks festival in Derbyshire. Meanwhile The Thyme Machine have also previously played at Indietracks, and are now embarking on their 3rd UK tour. Expect songs old and new.

"Gavin Osborn writes minutely detailed, bittersweet story-songs on an acoustic guitar and sings them with a comic timing usually absent from the works of his anti-folk contemporaries. Funny and touching, Osborn walks a similar tightrope to Loudon Wainwright III" - Comedian Stewart Lee, The Sunday Times
Originally from Bedford but has resided in the Bristol/Bath area for several years, singer-songwriter Gavin Osborn returns to home fresh from his recent string of shows in Melbourne, Australia, with the comedian and storyteller Daniel Kitson.
