Richard Walters - support from Raleigh Long

"Sparkling and deeply sincere...Elements of Youth Lagoon, Keaton Henson and Elliott Smith shine through in the songwriting, yet it manages to come across as uniquely his own." - Crack in the Road

Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Richard Walters plays his first gig of 2018 in the intimate surroundings of The Islington, performing songs from his 2016 album 'A.M.' plus new material from his forthcoming fifth album, due for release in summer 2018.
'A.M.' gained mass support on its release in October 2016, with regular airplay on BBC 6music (single 'Awards Night' was Lauren Laverne's track of the week in December 2016) and BBC Radio 2, where Richard performed a session for Dermot O'Leary.
Richard's music has soundtracked a number of US TV shows in recent years, including Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds and most recently Sky Atlantic's Tin Star.

Support comes from London singer Raleigh Long: "He seems incapable of sitting at a piano and coming up with anything that doesn’t tremble with almost mystical longing ... you’ll be reminded variously of Nilsson, early Todd Rundgren, even Alex Chilton at his most overwrought and wracked." The Guardian
