Sensory Beings are people whose primary experience of the world, and meaning within it, is sensory. They may be people with profound disabilities or later stage dementia or babies in the first weeks of life. This course will help you to develop your own sensory communications so that you are better able to communicate with them and support their cognition and mental well being.
Delegates will learn how seven different sensory systems develop, and find out how to present sensory information in such a way as to engage Sensory Beings in conversation. They will also get to treat their taste buds with a lovely Kino lunch.
Feedback from past Lexiconaries:
"Totally inspirational: No one is too disabled to have a conversation"
"A jaw droppingly good day. As a groupie of endless day seminars, course and conferences this was very rare"
