Memory Drawings is the beguiling, instrumental project of Minneapolis-raised, Morocco-based hammered dulcimer player Joel Hanson, alongside erstwhile Hood guitarist/multi-instrumentalist and sometime The Declining Winter main-man Richard Adams alongside Rachel Mcwatt, Chris Cole (Manyfingers/Third Eye Foundation/Movietone) and Gareth S Brown (Hood/Solo).
Manyfingers is the nom de plume of Chris Cole, sometime of various Bristol bands including Matt Elliott/The Third Eye Foundation and Movietone. Live, he evolves music through drums, laptop and some vocals, looping and building to create an incredibly powerful show the moves from comforting beauty to jarring industrial realism. His last album, The Spectacular Nowehere, got 4.5/5 from Norman Recordsand highlighted references to Yann Tiersen (official), Swans, Disco Inferno, Philip Glass and Steve Reich.
TEN is an experiment/ambient band from Leeds and London England which is led by musician Dominic Deane. Ten started out as a solo project in April 2009 but now includes a revolving line up of collaborators.
Ten's sound combines piano, acoustic and electric instruments, sparse percussion, which is then moulded around a backdrop of tape hiss, ambient field recordings, and beautiful super8 footage to create a beautiful sound-scape that moves from slow, eerie and melancholic to pulsating and optimistic.
Chris Adams (Hood, Bracken, Downpour) will be in the building and supplying music from his various projects before and between the main acts.
